VIRTUAL-REALITY

20.000 Leagues Under The Sea

1-day workshop, 30th July 2018
La Saint Union Highschool, London
Taught by Alex Anderson & Paula Strunden

Brief
The workshop invites students to individually develop a spatial proposal for their future underwater learning environment that is sited somewhere between the existing art classroom and Jules Vernes 20.000 Leagues Under the Sea. The employed techniques range from two-dimensional spherical panorama drawings/collage to three-dimensional sculptural elements. Each hand crafted element will be captured using photogrammetry, transferring the individuals analogue output into a collective digital space ready to populate the VR underwater world. Students will gain an understanding of the highly accessible programs and techniques available to jump between digital and analogue making.
